As a registered nurse, I often times see people facing health challenges. Many times, most around us are not aware of someone having a problem. Any nurse will tell you it is common for people to come up and ask for help with their health issues. However, nurses ability to help people is limited to nursing diagnoses and nursing treatments.
When Nancy* walked by, it was apparent she was in discomfort. Asking what was wrong, she said it was a latex allergy from an IV she just received. She said she did not have any antihistamines. Note: Even if she could get an antihistamine, it would take at least 1 hour and as much as 2 hours for it to be effective.
She then said, "Your a nurse, can you help me?" On checking her out, I suggested she may be in a state of fluid and electrolyte imbalance. Not by much but still imbalanced. Although skeptical, she took a pinch of unprocessed sea salt and dissolved it in her mouth. Then she drank a bottle of water.
Five minutes later, on seeing her again, I asked, "So, hows the itching and the pain? She said, "It is totally gone."
Water Cures Works (er eh,) corrects fluid and electrolyte imbalance which just happens to make her allergic symptoms go away.
