Hydration Fixes Fibromyalgia

There is research from 2006 that points to hydration as helping ease disease. Although it does not point directly to dehydration, it does point to water and salt as the solution. More on this below.

Fibromyalgia has in the past been called arthritis of the muscles. It is much more. Fibromyalgia is diagnosed by numerous signs and symptoms. We propose that anything helping the individual symptoms would presumably help the condition.

The most common symptoms of FM that are also found in other diseases or conditions respond well to the water cures protocol. Musculoskeletal pain all over the body, fatigue and tenderness to numerous points on the body are separately easily managed eliminated with the water cures.

Likewise, headaches, visual disturbances, auditory disturbances, balance, coordination and gait are improved by eating sea salt and drinking water.

Here you will find several peer reviewed medical studies showing a connection with either a lack of certain minerals and fibromyalgia or providing the minerals and relief from the symptoms of fibromyalgia. Even mineral baths helped relieve the symptoms.

Neurological Signs and Symptoms in Fibromyalgia

In this study, it was found that those with fibromyalgia had abnormalities of cranial nerves IX and X.

Symptoms affecting the neurological systems were found to be more common in the fibromyalgia group.

The neurological signs point to the likely craniocervical neuroanatomic cause for the fibromyalgia symptom complex, such as Chairi I malformation, abnormal narrowing of the spinal canal, or positional cervical compression (when you move your back).

Symptoms From The Study

Those with fibromyalgia had more neurological symptoms than those in the control group.

These symptoms were mostly neurological functioning. These included visual and auditory senses, the cerebellum, cranial nerves, respiration, and sensory and motor systems.

The most observed difference was "bright lights bother eyes" (The FM group, 70% vs. 6%), "poor balance" (63% vs. 4%; p<0.01), and "weakness" (the FM group 58% vs. 2%) and "tingling" (the FM group, 54% vs. 4%) in the "arms and legs."

The Water Cures Science: Doctors Saying Why It Works

This is fascinating as it is doctors saying that oral hydration could actually be more effective that a saline IV because of the reaction of the stomach expansion. Every action creates a physiological reaction. The question, which is the best reaction. The natural ones would most likely be the best.

Our Grandparents Knew About Mixing Hydration and Eating!

It is amazing how so many things that are new to us were common knowledge in the past. One basic practice of the Water Cures protocol is to drink at least 30-45 minutes before and 2 1/2 hours after a meal. This is not a new thought however. Notice what a magazine from 1925 had to say...

"Drink plenty of water two hours after each meal; drink none just before eating; and a small quantity if any at meal time. Do not take a bath until two hours after eating a meal, nor closer than one hour before eating. Drink a full glass of water both before and after the bath." (Golden Age, Sept. 9, 1925, pp. 784-785)

Heal Your Headache It Worked For Me

Hi, my name is Sharon. The webmaster of this site is my nurse, my personal water coach and my husband.

As this site was first being built, I had a headache and as usual took an Ibuprofen. Impatient for it to start working, I decided to try the Water Cures. I took a pinch of salt and a glass of water. Then I took a second pinch of salt and another glass of water. My headache was gone in less than 5 minutes.
