There is considerable research of the effects of dehydration on brain function. When you are studying for a final, preparing for a presentation or just need to stay awake through a boring lecture, brain hydration is critical. Properly managing hydration will help you improve your high school grades, and get good grades for students in college.
Unfortunately proper the medical term hydration lacks a definitive value or definition. There is no consensus as to how to define dehydration in the early stages. The body has such an incredible ability to move or shift water, there is no one size fits all way to identify dehydration. What we know for sure, our bodies need to be watered regularly throughout the day for optimal function.
Optimal oral hydration requires more than just water. To get the water to each of our cells, we need electrolytes and probably more than we typically get. Whether or not we are dehydrated is not the issue. To attain peak mental performance, we need to constantly and consistently provide fluids and electrolytes for our body and our brain.
The initial research on brain hydration was revealing. There are a number of studies that show the connection of dehydration with decreased mental function. Processing speed of thoughts was also slowed. With this research, we decided to look farther.
So we follow a simple algorithmic pattern. This pattern is a process by which we look at theories and proceed.
Sometimes theories lack specific studies on certain topics. Sometimes, as with water and salt, it is not physically or scientifically possible to create a double blind placebo trial. How can you have a placebo of salt dissolved in the mouth. It is impossible. Thus the process we use.
Here's the process we follow.
This is a simple logic process to help with decisions.

On researching, epilepsy, neural plasticity and neural conductivity, it became apparent that the science shows that using the Water Cures protocol can help get good grades. When it comes to no hassle, no side effects 'how to improve your grades,' drinking water is not enough. Scientific research shows that drinking water alone is a diuretic. Coffee and tea are only slightly more diuretic than water. Sugar and especially high fructose corn syrup are especially dehydrating. The more of these things you have circulating in your body, the greater the dehydration. If you have other things going on in your body such as infections or are on certain drugs, the greater the risk of dehydration when you have sugar consumption. This is what we already know that is applied to what we think.
We know that countless testimonials have included statements that the Water Cures protocols made the user smarter. We initially did not associate this with mental improvement. We thought it was more of a placebo side effect due to feeling better. Then we found this study.

The research on mental function and hydration backed this up. So, we have to conclude, good grades for students starts with hydration. Hydration does not mean just drinking water. We also need electrolytes. To get the best mix of electrolytes, we need unprocessed salt.

There is a simple way to prove it. No need to dig into scientific research. Just consider what the first thing that doctors do when someone comes into the hospital. They give them a saline IV. It is amazing how so many things that are new to us were common knowledge in the past. One basic practice of the Water Cures protocol is to drink at least 30-45 minutes before and 2 1/2 hours after a meal. This is not a new thought however. Notice what a magazine from 1925 had to say...
"Drink plenty of water two hours after each meal; drink none just before eating; and a small quantity if any at meal time. Do not take a bath until two hours after eating a meal, nor closer than one hour before eating. Drink a full glass of water both before and after the bath." (Golden Age, Sept. 9, 1925, pp. 784-785)

Hi, my name is Sharon. The webmaster of this site is my nurse, my personal water coach and my husband.
As this site was first being built, I had a headache and as usual took an Ibuprofen. Impatient for it to start working, I decided to try the Water Cures. I took a pinch of salt and a glass of water.
